My Lovely Rupert (and those other people) Speaking American

I love being American, I really do, but this made me crack up--the only person I know who says 'boo-yah' is my mother.

on another note--6.5 hours to DH!

i won't be there, school in the morn, but perhaps tomorrow? definitely next friday, where i can parade my post-thanksgiving food-baby in public!

but seriously, watch it.

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload/link) 5 songs you love that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

I was assigned the letter 'S'.

Second Lover by Noah and the Whale. So, it's a bit melancholy, but I'm in the funk I find is induced by this shitty cold weather and a girl with eyes the color of almonds. "I will love you in reality, and dreams."

Suffocation Keep by The Slip. I discovered them reading some old issues of Rolling Stone in our basement, and while the album isn't fantastic, this song gave me chills from the first line. "People are strange, that's why we're strangers."

Song for No One by Miike Snow. Evidence of slash-madness; when I heard this, I pictured this world-weary Draco Malfoy. Even though that's weird, the song isn't--it's extremely top-notch. I just... I love this band, and this song just tugs at something. "When your love has gone, you carry on; this is her song, this is a song for No One." Who's a lovesick fool? *raises hand guiltily*

Spanish Metal by Kaiser Chiefs. I just love their vibe. And this song has been stuck in my head for quite a while. "And if you think you're right, then you are wrong."
Start Wearing Purple by Gogol. Two reasons: it's at the very end of the movie Everything Is Illuminated, which I madly love, and also, tomorrow, our school will be wearing Purple in memorial of the LGBT community, and the suicides, recognised and unrecognised by the media. "All your sanity and wits, they will all vanish--I promise."

I'm quite proud of my selection, check out the tunes if you'd like, comments are ALWAYS welcome.

Writer's Block: MAKE IT STOP!

What was the last song you couldn't get out of your head no matter how hard you tried?

to be honest, it was Time Warp.

In our fall concert, we're playing it, and so have been rehearsing while I do the dance in my head (quite well, actually) and gaze longingly at the trombones who are masters of choerography.

Oh, bassoon, I miss you so.

Marching band is a lousy bitch.
